Night Shots of Light

Jack-o-lanterns; 10/15/09; f3; 1s; 9:30pm; Rexburg, ID; Samsung L830

Bajio; 10/15/09; 10pm;Rexburg, ID; f7.7; 3s; Samsung L830

I actually found it quite fun to take pictures of light. I didn't have much success getting shots of light in motion/painting with light that I liked but I think these two turned out pretty okay. I especially like the Bajio picture - the lantern-type lights there are really cool! Neither of these shots were touched up in photoshop. I did crop a little to the left of the Bajio photo however. For the Bajio picture I placed the camera on top of the car and used a timer to ensure the camera stayed still for 3 seconds.

  1. Cool shots! I like that way that you were able to capture the lighting inside Bajios. Great work!

  2. I like your pumpkin night/light shot. it has nice variety to it within itself and within photography as well. I personally would have like to have the pumpkin in back in focus as well. The way it is it distracts me.
The Bajio one is nice as well.

  3. Pumpkins in the trees, very cleaver. I like the shot but I think there could have been a better exposure for the lights in the pumpkin. I wasn't a big fan of the Bajio shot because it looked like a snap shot rather then a picture taken.

  4. I didn't get shots of light an motion very well either, but the ones you have turned out very nice. I like the pumpkin shot. I think that the glow on the pumpkins gives an eery Halloween feeling to them. I would have liked them a little sharper though.
